At the end of May 2014 Yarnfield Park Training & Conference Centre was delighted to hold this very special event for Streetgames.
Streetgames are the sports charity that brings sport to the doorstep of young people in disadvantaged communities across the UK.
“In May 2014 StreetGames held our annual National Youth Conference and National Young Volunteer Awards at Yarnfield Park. These two events that ran over a two day period (with the awards on the evening of the first night) provided over 120 young volunteers the opportunity to take part in a variety of sports training courses and workshops to support their delivery within their local community. Just under 200 people attended the National Volunteer Awards, which is a prestigious evening to recognise young people volunteering in sport in their local community. Yarnfield Park provided a great range of rooms, outdoor space and sports facilities to accommodate the two events. The staff were very flexible in providing support to deliver the event, which was our most successful yet. The accommodation was very comfortable and convenient, with only a short walk to the conference venue. We have since used Yarnfield Park to host other StreetGames events and meetings, and will plan to use this facility in the future.” – Natalie Mitchelmore, Strategic Lead of Volunteering, StreetGames
