Ancient High House

The Ancient High House is a stunning Tudor building that is the largest remaining timber-framed townhouse in the country. It was built roughly in 1595 for the Dorrington family.

The house has multiple floors with incredible museums and displays, including the Staffordshire Yeomanry Museum in the attic with displays of their distinguished history, the Civil War Room where King Charles 1st and Prince Rupert stayed during a visit, and the Castle Room with a display on the method of construction for the house and more information on how the house was built.
