British American Football Coaches Association (BAFCA) - June 2012

At the end of June Yarnfield Park Training & Conference Centre was delighted to hold the 2012 Annual National Convention for the British American Football Coaches Association (BAFCA).  Our purpose built training and conference centre situated in the heart of the Midlands was perfectly located to welcome coaches and players from both the UK and the USA.

The three day event which saw over one hundred people attend the convention kicked off on Friday.  Using three of our dedicated conference rooms, including The Howden Suite, informative sessions on tactics, techniques and drills were presented to delegates whilst exhibition stands set up in the spacious atrium allowed for exhibitors to display and demonstrate a diverse range of equipment to prospective buyers.

On Saturday evening the BAFCA AGM was held followed by the ‘Coach of the Year Awards Dinner’ in the restaurant which is large enough to hold events for up to 550 people. After dinner our fully licensed bar was the ideal setting to ensure relaxed yet informative networking opportunities.

Samaritans July 2012 -

Yarnfield Park Training and Conference centre played host to a Council of Samaritans Event, giving them a helping hand on the way to ‘Destination 2015.’

One of the leading Midlands training and conference centres based in Staffordshire greeted 280 delegates, including Members of the Board and staff members from the General Office, for the three day residential conference.

The conference, part of ‘Strategy 2009-2015’ was a midpoint and focused on how Samaritans can respond to calls 24/7. Breakout sessions continued throughout the weekend, concentrating on discussions such as resources for branches and reducing their engaged rate.

Head of Sales and Marketing at Yarnfield Park, Richard Smith was thrilled with the success and management of the event.

“This event was particularly important to us as the Samaritans have been a client of ours for 8 years and counting. It allowed us to prove that even after all this time we are still the reliable and enthusiastic conference centre with the same brilliant facilities that they came to all those years ago,” says Richard.

“To be able to house all of the delegates in our on-site accommodation was a huge advantage, as it allowed the event to run smoothly, and cut the commuting time from hotels to allow the delegates to get the maximum from the conference.

“With all meeting rooms in the main conference building being utilized, it allowed the team to show off their excellent level of service and organisation, working very hard to make sure the Council of Samaritans Event was a success.”

The delegates, along with over 30,000 people a year the centre receives make use of facilities including onsite training courses, banqueting facilities, restaurant, gym and leisure amenities, high quality on-site accommodation, as well as 40 meeting rooms.

The venue, set in over 80 acres of picturesque Staffordshire countryside, provides a desirable location with a high quality, professional and dependable event management service, which are dedicated to making each event a success.

Busy Bees March 2012 -

On 30thMarch 2012 Yarnfield Park, Staffordshire, played host to the ‘Busy Bees Annual Managers Conference and Awards Dinner’. Due to our central midlands location and major road and rail links Yarnfield Park was the perfect rendezvous for all 146 nationwide nurseries.  The focus of the event was to get all their Nursery Managers together to deliver this year’s results and next year’s forecast.  After an intense conference in our purpose built Knighton Suite, which can seat up to 400 delegates, the delegates retired to their bedrooms to get ready for their very own red carpet BB Awards Ceremony.

Yarnfield Park working in collaboration with Pixifrog Events Ltd  took a mere two hours to transform  the venue into a dazzling ‘Oscars Awards Extravaganza’ complete with Hollywood Entrance, Red carpet walkways, giant props, full room and table dressing  and topped off with a’ Busy Bee’ search light to really set the scene.  As the guests entered the venue they were greeted by their very own ‘paparazzi’ before relaxing with their pre-dinner drinks.  After a short time the ‘Master of Ceremonies’ welcomed the guests back into the now transformed Knighton Suite  to take their seats for dinner.  As coffee was served the ‘Master of Ceremonies’ introduced the BB Awards Ceremony.  During the next hour 16 trophies and prizes were awarded, to the top nurseries in each of the categories ranging from’ Team of the Year’ through to ‘Nursery Garden of the Year’.  After the awards the guests were free to celebrate their successes, enjoy the evening and to party to the sounds of the live band, ‘Under the Covers’.

The client was over the moon with the event and said:

“I’d just like to say a huge thank you for all your help last Friday – the room looked excellent and I can’t believe how quick you turned it around!  The room definitely had the WOW factor and I think everyone was amazed when they walked in!  Your support in the lead up to the conference was brilliant and nothing was too much for you.

Can you also pass on a huge thank you to the MC, Jon, who was fantastic and ensured the ceremony ran smoothly, with humour – everyone has commented what a difference he made to our ceremony.”          Karen D’Aguilar, Head of Sales and Marketing

University of Birmingham/NHS Institute September 2011-

Yarnfield Park was selected as the venue to kick of the NHS Institute’s Post Graduate Certificate in Leadership and Service improvement, a programme run by the Health Services Management Centre at the University of Birmingham in partnership with the University of Manchester. The 4 day residential programme, which took place in September, welcomed over 160 delegates to the venue for an intensive programme of sessions. Yarnfield Park’s central location made it very easy for the delegates to get to the venue given its central England location. The event was a mixture of main conference sessions in the Knighton Suite and group work, with at times over 20 parallel sessions running simultaneously, all accommodated within the main conference building at the venue. As well as being able to accommodate all of the delegates on site, Yarnfield Park provided AV support for the event and hosted a gala dinner on the final evening. Subsequent learning events will take place regionally around the UK.

CRANFORD – BBC - "What a fantastic week we spent with you at Yarnfield.
From the first night barbecue on Monday 1st June, to the impromptu dinner for our Producer and Cast later in the week, you and your colleagues were nothing short of amazing. Nothing was too much trouble and I felt there were many times when you all went that little bit extra to accommodate and assist us no matter what we asked you for!"
